The Application of High Speed Camera in Teaching

Release time:2023-06-02 10:25:04popularity:

In today's society, with the improvement of socio-economic development and technological progress, computer multimedia teaching has become a popular trend. Computer multimedia teaching has the advantages of direct presentation, convenience, large classroom capacity, and good effectiveness. But the disadvantage is that it requires a lot of time to create courseware before class, and the workload is heavy. For teachers who are not proficient in computer operations, creating courseware is difficult, time-consuming, and difficult to implement effective classroom evaluation in classroom teaching.

In classroom teaching, teachers often need to project and display a large number of teaching charts and students' homework, classroom exercises, learning outcomes, etc. in real time, and conduct graphic and textual demonstrations, calculations, graphic analysis, and timely and effective classroom evaluations. These are all areas that multimedia courseware is not good at. Fully utilizing the functionality of physical projectors is a simple and easy way to solve this problem. However, due to the problems of high price, large space occupation, complex operation, insufficient clarity, inadequate functionality, and inability to easily switch with computers in real-time, traditional physical projectors that were once widely used are rarely used in classrooms that mainly focus on computer multimedia teaching. Many schools even no longer equip traditional physical projectors.

The emergence of the "digital physical projector" - the high-speed camera, which is similar to physical projectors but is cheaper, smaller in size, more portable and more powerful than physical projectors, can effectively solve the shortcomings and deficiencies of traditional physical projectors, and achieve mutual cooperation and complementary advantages with computer multimedia teaching. It provides technical support for changing the current classroom teaching mode and improving classroom teaching efficiency.

1、Introduction to High Speed Camera

High shooting efficiency refers to a high-speed camera, also known as a rapid imaging device, rapid shooting device, or lesson preparation king, which is a newly developed portable digital office tool. It has a convenient folding design, easy to carry and use, and is inexpensive. It is connected to a computer through a USB interface and uses driver software to complete a series of functional operations on the connected computer. For example, it can perform physical display, electronic whiteboard, high-speed scanning, photography, video recording, photocopying, network paperless fax, e-book production, edge trimming and straightening operations.

2、 Examples of the application of high-speed cameras in education and teaching

High speed cameras have been widely used in many schools with significant results. Next, the editor will take the Fenglin high-speed camera used by many school teachers as an example to specifically discuss the application of the camera's physical exhibition booth function, video recording function, photo capture function, scanning management function, and computer desktop function in classroom teaching. Figure 2 shows the interface of the Fenglin high-speed scanner driver program - Fenglin high-speed scanner application software. Before using the high-speed scanner, the installation of the Fenglin high-speed scanner driver program needs to be completed.

1. Physical booth function - projection of text materials
The physical booth function of the high-speed camera is similar to that of a traditional physical projector, except that the high-speed camera can be connected to a computer and operated using a graphical software interface. The software can present text materials (such as textbooks, teaching aids, classroom exercises, test questions, student assignments, student learning outcomes, etc.) on a projection screen in real time, and can also display dynamic processes such as calculations and experiments in real time. Moreover, the software comes with a toolbar that can achieve multi-point movement, shrinking, rotation, and other operations. It is simple and convenient to use, small in size, light in weight, cheap in price, and easy to carry. It is more advanced, convenient, and powerful than physical projectors, and can effectively replace the classroom teaching functions of traditional physical projectors.

2. Video recording function - record teaching micro videos
The current micro lesson (micro video) teaching is receiving increasing attention from the education industry in various countries, and the application of micro videos in classroom teaching is also becoming more and more widespread. The recording function of the high-speed camera can record the teaching operation and explanation process of the teacher on the computer screen in a timely manner as video files. It can also record the real-time display, various annotations, analysis and calculation, demonstration drawing, experiments and other dynamic processes of the teacher on the physical exhibition stand. The demonstration process cannot be saved in the form of video. These videos can be recorded before class or synchronized in real-time during teaching, without affecting normal teaching.

The recording function of the high-speed camera can be used to record teaching micro videos in classroom teaching. For important and difficult knowledge that students have not fully mastered in regular classroom teaching, students can easily watch the recorded micro videos at any time for differentiated self-learning and review, reducing the pressure of teachers repeatedly explaining certain knowledge points and students repeatedly asking the same questions.

3. Quick snapshot function - convenient for implementing comparative teaching
The fast capture (photography) function of the high-speed camera can quickly capture or shoot text materials onto the computer desktop or editing PPT or WORD documents. Combined with the comparative teaching mode in the high-speed camera's physical exhibition stand function, it can be conveniently used in real-time to project and display different types of text materials on the same topic in classroom teaching, especially for comparative teaching, including comparing student learning outcomes, comparing student learning outcomes with reference materials, etc. Projection displays students' homework, exercises, test questions, as well as their classroom or post class learning outcomes, making it convenient for teachers to effectively evaluate students' learning situations and better apply them to classroom teaching.

4. Scan management function - collect electronic teaching materials
The scanning management function of the high-speed scanner can quickly complete high-resolution scanning of text documents with a paper size of A3 or less, and can perform OCR recognition on scanned documents. It can convert text and images into editable WORD documents, which can be easily used by teachers to collect various text teaching materials and convert them into editable WORD electronic documents for future classroom teaching reserves.

5. Computer desktop function - realize real-time switching between multimedia and high-speed camera teaching
The desktop function of the high-speed camera allows for quick and convenient switching between the computer desktop and the high-speed camera teaching assistant software interface. In classroom teaching, it can be efficiently and conveniently used to release the computer desktop, switch between high-speed camera teaching and multimedia teaching in real time, display pre prepared teaching materials such as documents and videos on the computer, and better achieve seamless switching, integration, and coordination between high-speed camera teaching and multimedia teaching.

In summary, in classroom teaching, the physical exhibition booth, video recording, snapshot, scanning tube embedding, and computer desktop functions of the high-speed camera have a wide range of practical applications in projecting text materials, analyzing graphic and textual materials, recording teaching micro videos, comparative teaching, collecting electronic geography teaching materials, and achieving the integration of multimedia and high-speed camera teaching.
